What's Present Now | Simple Practice | Updates + Offerings
Greetings dear Reader,
Nice to meet you here again. Ready for yet another a new month?
I hope all is well in your world and that you’re navigating the new season with ease and optimism.
May has opened for me with big questions and decisions begging to be made. It’s got me thinking about how we know.
What is it that makes us sure about the right next step to take or the best option to choose?
In our increasingly synthetic world, it’s getting more and more difficult to rely on one way of knowing. When you can no longer trust what you’re seeing with your eyes or hearing with your ears, how else can you know truth?
Fortunately, our human bodies come equipped with not just 1 brain, but 3! If you’ve ever had a “gut feeling” about something or felt that “the heart wants what it wants”, congratulations - your other brains have entered the chat.
Cool fact: when you were being formed in your mother’s womb, your 🫀heart was the very first organ to develop - yes, even before the brain. The wisdom embedded there is incalculable.
When we speak of our “gut instinct” we’re referencing a knowing that surpasses logic. It's our capacity to sense and feel without reasoning. Side note: have you ever noticed how the compact, twisted landscape of our gut (intestines), kinda sorta mirrors the twists and turns of our cerebral brain?😯🧠
In yoga, the whole mission is to align (unify) the body, mind and spirit. That alignment leads to a complete and fully integrated awareness - a knowing - of ourselves as divine beings in a physical form. Our true power then becomes undeniable.
The thing about knowing is that it impels us to act. Having knowledge that you don’t take action on causes wasted energy. Resistance, denial, ineffective activity - all sources of needless energy drain. You create alignment when you choose to act from what you know to be true - even when it’s hard.
This I Know: There are multiple intelligences that we can access. When we choose to intentionally connect with different ways of knowing, we open ourselves up to richer, deeper insight. Learning to tap into the wisdom of our heart brain and gut brain takes practice. With practice, we ultimately experience greater alignment as we learn to trust our inner knowing.
If you're in a space of needing clarity for your next steps, meditation can help with that. Join us on Fridays for our 30 minute practice.

Simple Practice
Belly Breathing
Whenever you feel stressed, uncertain or stuck, take a moment to pause and breathe into your belly. Place one hand on your belly, just above the navel area. Inhale slowly, allowing the breath to come down into the belly, expanding the diaphragm. Repeat slowly, three times. Pause and notice what you feel. Repeat again for another three rounds, inviting ease, certainty and progress as you breathe.
