Why We Exhale
These are unprecedented times.
As chaos and change continues rapidly in the world I wanted to share a gentle reminder about what this practice is for.
Exhale started with the intention to be a space where we come together to release, reset and receive the powerful benefits of meditation. Yoga practices have always been about bringing the mind, body and spirit into alignment. The practice cultivates actual presence. The idea is not to escape reality but come into communion with it, from a place of non-judgement and acceptance. Without accepting whatβs present, any efforts to create change will be futile.
The world seems to be calling us to change in so very many ways. I truly believe transformation is always possible - no matter how dire things seem. However, our first priority is always to change ourselves. Starting with presence and acceptance, we can then create the change we want to see.
Meditation practice is meant to help guide us to true presence with ourselves - with spirit.
I want to be clear that the intention for the space is to hold the truth, not to escape it. Through practice, we build strength and capacity to access deeper wisdom - and to take action on it.
Yoga isnβt only for relaxation. It empowers us to do what we must do, from a place of clarity, strength and alignment with our truth.
This is why we Exhale.
Thank you for being here for your practice each week.
Welcome.
